Possibly emigrated to America in 1830. The ship Preston sailed from Yarmouth in Aprol that year with a number emigrants from Stradbroke. The government of the day had decided that emigration would solve some of the difficulties at home, but would also be the most powerful means of defence that which England could provide its colonies. A second ship with a William Aldous on board sailed 2 years later.
