Witnesses George and Jemima Godbold at marriage. Cencus of 1841 and 1851
show him living with his parents. The Matggs diaries report him as renting
247 acres of arable and pasture at Holton St Peter. BY the 1861 censues he
was farming only 17 acres but employing 6 men with 3 more in a brickyard plus
3 servants. He moved back to Metfield between 1865&7. The 1871 census
reparted that he was farming 273 acres. In 1874 he wasnotaed as a brick,
tile and draining pipe maker, farmr and owner of steam threshing machine[Manning.FTW]
